Today, the government’s spending review will set out departmental budget cuts over the next five years. With funding for the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (Bis) and the post-16 budget at the Department for Education expected to be reduced by between 25 and 40 per cent by 2019-20, few are expecting good news.
