JULIJA Jeriomenko has progressed in “leaps and bounds” to secure her perfect job after doing an apprenticeship with South Notts College.
The 29-year-old, of Sneinton, came to the UK in 2010 from Lithuania and worked in a call centre before branching out into a sales assistant role at Notts County Football Club.

After working hard for several months, Julija was offered the receptionist role at the club and enrolled on a level two customer services apprenticeship programme with South Notts College to complete her qualifications.
“I was really happy when I was offered the job. It’s perfect,” Julija said. “I didn’t find the apprenticeship too difficult and it was very interesting because it taught me more about the role I was doing on a daily basis.
“It explained more about the procedures and rules of the full-time job. I think doing an apprenticeship is a really great way to learn about the world of work and it helps you evaluate the way you worked before you started the course.”
Lisa Miller, assessor at the college, said: “Julija has worked beyond the requirements of her intermediate apprenticeship by achieving level two in both communication and AoN.
“She has not let potential barriers to her learning, such as English being her second language, deter her from doing the best she can at all times. In both her portfolios, she produced some high-quality pieces of work which I was thrilled with.
“She attended all the sessions, worked to deadlines with ease and completed the apprenticeship in approximately six to eight months.
“Julija is very professional, committed and an absolute joy to work with.”
Chantelle Gibson, human resources manager at Notts County, said: “Julija has come on in leaps and bounds, as when she started, her English needed some improvement. But now she is doing really well after doing her apprenticeship. She’s a lovely girl.
“Here at Notts County we are very open to taking on apprentices and helping people into the world of work.”
The Post’s Get Notts Working campaign is aiming to create 200 apprenticeships in 100 days.
We are encouraging employers to pledge at least one apprentice to the campaign.
