Ascom UK launches their first ever Apprenticeship programme to nurture talent

This is the first time that Ascom has used apprenticeships in the UK to attract and train their employees. They will be working with the PDS Group, the UK’s leading IT and Telecoms apprenticeship consultancy to help build its ICT and Business Administration Apprenticeship programmes. PDS won the contract after providing a feasibility study.

Robert Wood, Ascom UK Managing Director said: “I am very pleased to offer this opportunity to both new and existing staff, Ascom have an excellent record of staff retention and I hope that this further enforces our commitment to our employees, I really feel that apprenticeships offer an excellent grounding for development within our industry”.

The company will initially be creating seven Advanced Apprenticeships in ICT and one Intermediate Level 2 apprenticeship in Business Administration; four apprenticeship places will go to existing staff whilst the remaining four will be new positions.

The PDS Group will be providing their Full Package Service. This includes: managing the attraction, recruitment and selection of future apprentices; designing the training and development work-based plan; accessing funding; and delivering the qualifications.
