Posted on: 30/04/12

IT Skills Academy - Training Partners BadgeThis week the National Skills Academy for IT launches its Training Partner Network, promoting excellence in IT professional learning and development across the UK.

The Partner Network was created by the IT Skills Academy, to help professionals access the training that employers in the sector value and ensure it is delivered to the highest standards.

Working with a Training Quality Panel comprising major IT employers, the IT Skills Academy has approved 17 Training Partners, including universities, colleges and private providers. These were assessed on the quality of their teaching and results, and their commitment to the IT Skills Academy’s goal of increasing IT professionalism and skills. As approved Training Partners, they undertake to collaborate with IT employers to fulfil existing and new learning needs.

Derrin Kent, Managing Director at TDM Wyre Academy – a founding Training Partner specialising in ICT and Management Apprenticeships, and IT training and certifications – said:

“Professional training for the IT workforce – including quality ICT Apprenticeships for developers, designers, technicians, systems engineers, managers and security specialists – is vital to the current and future needs of the sector and to the wider UK economy. In the current economic climate it is important that training budgets give best value for IT employers and their staff.

“By joining the Training Partner network, TDM Wyre Academy has shown its commitment to investing in the future growth and development of the workforce. Through the IT Skills Academy, we will continue to offer high quality, responsive and best practice ICT Apprenticeships and IT training, to make the most of individuals’ and companies’ resources.”

Karen Price, CEO e-skills UK, said:

“The Training Partner Network is aimed at identifying and making available the best in IT training for everyone working in the UK’s IT sector.
