Apprenticeship offer for tenants

A housing association is offering apprenticeship places to two of its unemployed tenants.

Seven Locks Housing has also teamed up with South Leicestershire College (SLC) to offer support to all its residents who are looking to return to work.

The project will help tenants to build their confidence, gain new skills and work towards employment or continuing their education.

Staff from SLC will be running the sessions and will discuss individual circumstances to assess learning needs and this will include a short literacy and numeracy assessment.

Attending the sessions will help prepare applicants for two 18-month apprenticeships with Seven Locks Housing as a customer service advisor and a business and administration assistant.

The Market Harborough housing association took over the running more than 2,000 council properties in Harborough district after a ballot of tenants in 2007.

Any Seven Locks tenants who are interested in joining the project or applying for one of the apprenticeship vacancies can attend one of the information sessions being held at the Naseby Square Community Hall in Stuart Road in Market Harborough on June 11.

Anyone interested in finding out more information should contact SLC’s recruitment team on 0116 264 3535.
