The investment has breathed new life into the former Kwik Save store.
Charlotte Burton, communications officer at Intraining, said: “We moved to these premises, which are walking distance from the JobCentre Plus, to give us a much more prominent position in the city centre.
“The new offices provide us with the best facilities to enable us to fully support our customers for the five-year duration of our Work Programme contract, and hopefully beyond.
“We have more meeting rooms, which means that we can offer more private one-to- one sessions should customers require it and are also able to deliver a greater number of free training sessions.
“All in all, we are able to engage with more customers on a daily basis, which means that, ultimately, we are in a position to get more local people back into work more quickly.”
The company was set up a year ago. Around 68,000 unemployed people are expected to be supported through the Government’s Work Programme over the next five years across north east Yorkshire and the Humber, according to Employment Minister Chris Grayling.
Tailored support, including help with job searches, CV and letter writing and interview technique is offered to individuals to ensure that they stand the best possible chance of finding employment. Iain Salisbury, head of employment services at Intraining, said: “We are helping hundreds of people into sustainable employment each month across north east Yorkshire and the Humber, and have seen some great examples of how the Work Programme is really making a difference to people’s lives.”
