East Coast was last night named as one of the UK’s top employers thanks to the benefits and working conditions it offers its employees.
East Coast was certified as one of Britain’s Top Employers for 2012 along with 67 other organisations throughout the country, after scoring over 60% in an assessment of the company’s HR practices and employee offerings.
The title was awarded to the train operator at an awards dinner in London last night, held by independent specialist research organisation, the CRF Institute, which runs the Britain’s Top Employer Initiative.
The certificate was awarded following an assessment of East Coast, which looked at:
• Primary and Secondary Benefits and Working Conditions;
• Training and Development;
• Career Development;
• Company Culture.
East Coast was praised for offering its people outstanding working conditions such as commitment to training and developing people from within the business, outstanding employee perks and a repackaged rewards framework, can-do culture, exceptional loyalty of staff and flexible working.
East Coast Managing Director Karen Boswell said: “We are really proud to be named as one of Britain’s Top Employers for 2012 and we are pleased that our employee offering has met the stringent criteria needed to receive the certification from the CRF Institute, which is the first time East Coast has been included.
“East Coast achieved one of the highest scores in the area of Training and Development, which is testament to the hard work of our Learning and Development team, who have made training opportunities more accessible to our employees through our online learning resource, our e-academy.”
Britain’s Top Employers Country Manager Eleanor Nickerson said: “This year we’re proud to certify our strongest group of Top Employers to date. Increasingly we’re seeing creative and intelligent HR practices and employee offerings that ensure the working experience is positive, and that employee groups get what they want from their employment. We’re seeing a heavy emphasis on flexible benefits, on segmented employee offerings and on career development that ensures employee growth and good succession planning.”
