Bentley looks for apprentices

RECRUITMENT for luxury car-maker Bentley’s apprenticeship programme has got underway.

The Crewe-based firm is looking for at least 20 apprentices to start in September.

Last month more than 900 youngsters attended an open day about the programme.

Apprenticeships available include engineering roles based in areas such as electrical engineering, body and test development and whole vehicle engineering.

There are also craft roles in areas such as woodworking, electrical systems and leather trim.

A spokesman added: “We are also looking for business and commercial apprentices who would be based in areas such as IT, finance, personnel and sales and marketing.”

Meanwhile Bentley, which employs just under 4,000 people at its Pyms Lane headquarters, has been named one of just 67 top employers across the UK by independent research company CRF Institute. It was praised for offering employees “exceptional working conditions”. Spokesman Christine Gaskell said: “Everyone at Bentley is proud of the brand.”
